Lisa, I really liked your use of the VoiceThread to describe the novel. This would serve as a nice model for students doing book-talks as well as responding to books. I really get a sense of the historical era from the photos.

I think that since I've changed the VoiceThread settings, that when I added my own reactions under the new CI5475 VT site, that I may have altered your comments to the photos. Sorry about that.

Lisa: Fantastic idea. I liked your use of black and white imagery to establish the setting of the novel. I think you keyed in on some important aspects - automobiles, clothing, store fronts, and housing. These elements really reveal the difference in time period. I had been thinking of voicethread mainly in terms of a student publishing opportunity. This is a great idea - to describe the setting of the novel and also model how you might want students to approach the project. Your comments about the difficulty in finding photos was also helpful. It shows the extra steps that may need to be taken to find appropriate photos and the importance of establishing that before making an assignment. I found your process comments very helpful. Great job.
